About Demineralization
Demineralization is commonly defined as white spots on the teeth. This is a common problem or risk for those wearing braces. The white spot or white spot lesion is in fact, early caries (demineralization is occurring).
The white spot lesion is reversible. With your teeth naturally remineralizing the affected area, fluoride should be used as a supplement to treat the surface area of the lesion and enhances the remineralization process.
The lesion should reduce in size and develop the luster of teeth with healthy enamel.
To minimize the risk of ever developing white spots, you can replace your current toothpaste with Fluoridex.
