Grow Through Giving...
New Year's Smiles

by Brian Harris, DDS

Dear Colleagues,

I wanted to share a whitening tip that has helped Harris Dental grow tremendously in 2006 and 2007. In early 2006 we were involved with a charity whitening project called Smiles for Life. Over a 4 month period, we were able to whiten over 200 patients' teeth with all the proceeds going to charity. We raised over $135,000 and, interestingly enough, we were able to see a surge in the growth of our practice. The reason the project was so successful was that we were able to get people in the door that were willing to pay $500 to have their teeth whitened... these are exactly the type of new patients that we want to have!

Out of these 200 people that whitened, 120 of them were new to our office and, of those 120, about 80 of them ended up staying as patients of the practice. Of the 80, some went on to become Smile Design cases, some Invisalign and some just basic restorative.

Word has spread across the valley and we now get approached by different groups to donate whitening procedures for auctions and charity events. We gladly do it because a great patient is well worth the cost of a whitening kit and a little chair time. Get involved with your local charities and whiten your community's teeth... you will be glad you did.
